Virginia Doesn't

Virginia Doesn't is yet another old band from many years ago when I was known as "Tweets" in 1979 we did a "John Peeel" session which has more information here .

I used to play an Explorer guitar made by Melvyn Hiscock who went on to write the definitive book on electric guitar making called Make Your Own Electric Guitar  (I get a mention in the acknowledgments).
Melvyn also used to bring prototypes for me to test at gigs, this usually meant swinging them around my head and smashing them up, this was done to test the construction and it made a wonderful noise as well.

Sadly (or luckily) I have no photos of VD (as we were affectionately known) we disbanded around 1980

Big Train Virginia Plain

 

Project commissioned by the BBC for the comedy series 'Big Train', this time I had to create a cover of the Roxy Music song 'Virginia Plain'.

Here is a video I worked on for the BBC with the team from Big Train starring Kevin Eldon, Mark Heap and Simon Pegg. I was asked to produce and record a cover of the Dexys Midnight runners hit for their Frankenstein inspired comedy sketch.
